Course Description
This industry-recognised training course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge and hands-on skills required to safely and competently install, commission, and maintain Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems. Suitable for those working in the electrical or renewables sector, the course blends classroom-based learning with practical workshop sessions to ensure a well-rounded, real-world learning experience.
Course Content Includes:
Photovoltaic systems in the context of renewable technologies
How a Photovoltaic System works – principles, components, and system operation
Design of a PV system – site assessment, sizing, and configuration
Installation of a PV system – practical installation techniques and safety protocols
Commissioning and client hand-over – testing, documentation, and customer communication
Maintenance and fault finding – troubleshooting, inspections, and ongoing servicing
Training Format:
This course combines theory-based instruction with hands-on practical training to give delegates the opportunity to apply newly acquired knowledge in a controlled environment prior to assessment.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to meet the requirements of the National Occupational Standards for Environmental Technologies Units, specifically:

Refund Policy
Cancellation Policy – Summary
Public Training:
Can be cancelled with at least 30 calendar days’ written notice to NCC.
Cancellations within 30 days of the start date are not permitted.
In-House Training:
Can be cancelled with at least 45 calendar days’ written notice to NCC.
Cancellations within 45 days of the start date are not permitted.
Non-classroom-based Training:
Cannot be cancelled or rescheduled under any circumstances.
Charges are non-refundable.
Additional notes:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the NCC Business Development Executive and emailed to Commercial@NCClondon.ac.uk.
If delegates fail to attend part or all of the training, full charges still apply.
Any approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
Specific Terms and Conditions
Delegates must already hold the following:
• N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) and
• BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification if not included in the above qualification
Stand-alone Technical certificates are NOT acceptable
Prior to starting the course, delegates must provide the following:
• Copies of certificates for prior qualifications held
Delegates must bring the following things on day 1 of the course:
• Passport size photographs (x2)
• Basic stationary (Pen, pencil, ruler)
• A calculator
