Course Description
The City & Guilds Low risk Confined space course provides the knowledge and skills to safely work in low risk confined spaces, including those associated with lone working where the application of proper procedures is required. Low risk confined space environments often have entries no deeper than three meters with an unobstructed vertical lift and a straight ladder into a dark chamber.
Delegates will gain practical experience of using fall arrest and retrieval equipment. Tasks will also include appropriate ladder-climbing techniques which will allow for safe access and egress into a confined space.
By the end of this course, you will have an understanding of:
What confined spaces are and when confined spaces can be created by work activities.
The main hazards and risks resulting from working in confined spaces.
The legal responsibilities of employers and others in control of work in confined spaces, as well as a knowledge of the duties placed on other individuals.
How to carry out a risk assessment for work undertaken in a confined space.
How to implement, supervise and monitor control measures to control the risks associated with work in confined spaces.
The necessary emergency procedures for working in confined spaces
Course Pre-requisite
Over 18 – The minimum age to participate in these courses is 18-years.
Medical Self-Assessment Form –You are required to certify that you are physically and medically fit to attend the course by completing a Medical Self-Assessment Form prior to joining your course and daily thereafter for each day in attendance.
Work Boots – participants are to wear suitable footwear in the form of work boots with ankle support.
Valid Photographic I.D – This can be in the form of a passport or driving licence but must be in date. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued with a City and Guilds Certificate of Competence which is valid for 3 years

Refund Policy
Course cancellations fees as follows, include bad weather travel disruption:
8+ days notice of course date – a full refund is given minus administration fee of £30+vat per course booking
7 days or less notice of course date – a refund is not available.
Course postponement fees for any reason, including bad weather travel disruption, as follows:
8+ days notice of course start date – Course may be postponed upon payment of admin fee of £36 incl. VAT.
7 days or below notice of course start date – postponement is not available.
Any courses which have been postponed are not eligible for a future refund.
Non-Completion of course
If a delegate does not complete the course, then a refund is not available and certificate will not be issued.
